Peabody Opera Outreach opened the children’s opera The Hiding Tree in the Peabody Opera Studio on November 9th. Singing the role of “Big Sister,” Miss Galindo will continue to travel to schools for the rest of the school year to perform this 35 minute opera. In April, Galindo will perform this opera for hundreds of kids in Peabody’s Friedberg Hall.

Peabody Opera Theatre puts on the staged premier of Kirke Mechem’s Pride and Prejudice November 20th-23rd. Miss Galindo takes part in the chorus of the production, and is a featured dancer in many scenes. Some of the dances Galindo performs in include the Minuet, the Gavotte, the Sarabande, and the Scottish Reel.

Miss Galindo was selected by the Peabody voice faculty to sing on a master class given by world-class mezzo soprano, Denyce Graves. The master class will take place on November 7th at 12:30 in Peabody’s Griswold Hall. Galindo will be singing one of the most beloved French mélodies, Oh! quand je dors by Franz Lizst.

Miss Galindo will make her Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Debut on October 17th at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Hindesmith’s one-act opera, Sancta Susanna. Under the direction and musical direction of Kateryna Sokolova and Marin Alsop, respectively, Galindo will take part in the nun’s chorus alongside many of her Peabody Opera peers.
